Science teacher Christelle Corpin showed her students exactly how capable they were as she mentored them in advanced research projects that were award-winning at their local science fairs.

As the school year begins for schools across the USA, it’s important to consider how you will develop the rules you’ll use as the guidepost for your classroom. EPI’s professional development program Launch Your Classroom! provides actionable advice on creating rules that are clear, effective, and have student buy-in.

Each year, teachers with Educational Partners International (EPI) recognize their fellow educators for outstanding work via the EPI Program Member Excellence Awards. Program members nominate teachers in three categories, and the final winners are chosen over the course of a week of voting. This year’s winners were Wilmark Mariano (in the elementary school category), Domingo Alberto (middle school), and Joshua Ansah (high school).

Sheonne Carter from Jamaica is known for her insightful webinars on teaching topics in special education, but her most recent online talk gave her an opportunity to share her personal teaching story. In a podcast for the South Carolina Association for Middle Level Education, she shared the challenges she has faced teaching in a new country, the skills she hopes to take back to Jamaica, and the advice she has for any teachers who may be struggling.

“Music Madness” is a competition that sees music videos from around the globe face off in a bracket-style competition. Conceived by Educational Partners International (EPI) teacher Christian Moreno, the contest provides students with an interactive introduction to world languages. With 1,804 votes cast in the tournament’s closing days and musicians voicing their support, the educational success has earned recognition for Moreno.
