EPI Gives Thanks to Teachers
With the arrival of Thanksgiving, people in the USA enjoy a time of warmth and reflection. At Educational Partners International, we celebrate teachers and all of their accomplishments. They have enriched their own lives through cultural exchange, and we’ve watched with pride as they have adapted and grown. Because of their efforts, their students’ lives are richer, and schools and communities are benefiting from the new experiences the teachers have shared.
Jamaican Art Teacher Leads Students to Soar in Aviation-Themed Contest
One of Coleen Bartley’s art students was a finalist in the 2022 North Carolina Aviation Art Contest, and two others were semifinalists. The students’ success is all the more remarkable given that the 2021-2022 school year was Bartley’s first with Lillington-Shawtown Elementary School. She came to Lillington, North Carolina, from Jamaica with Educational Partners International (EPI).
Exchange Teacher from Colombia Sings Her Way to Carnegie Hall
Adriana Antolinez’s musical talent has led her on a teaching journey that spans continents. And now, it has led the music teacher to perform at one of the most celebrated music venues in the world: New York City’s Carnegie Hall. It is yet another highlight in a successful school year for the North Carolina elementary teacher, who came to the USA from Colombia as an Educational Partners International (EPI) program member.
